I started cycling with a couple of school friend who where members of the Preston Wheelers, my mum & dad bought me a Raleigh 20 as I wouldn’t grow out of it! I was often left out in the middle of the sticks; I used to dream of having a 10 speed racer.
I was into motorcycles through my teens and raced at National level until I moved to London in 1982.
I bought a cheap bike to get around then went touring through the Netherlands and the cycling bug bit. I joined the Paddington CC in 1985 and started riding the Paddington track league. I rode for Paddington until 2002 when it became Team Sport & Publicity riders in the Team included Bradley Wiggins and Steve Cummings. I was with Team Sport & Publicity until it folded at the end of the 2005 season and then I became a Finchley boy.
During my time at Paddington I was Club Champion at Road Race, Hill Climb, Time Trial and Cyclo Cross.

Road Race Results
My first win was in a Surrey League event on the hilly Cutmill circuit in 1991, everyone let me go! I remember giving a sheepish wave as I crossed the line as I wasn’t 100% sure I had won! My last win apart from LVRC cat wins was at Eastway in 2006.
I rode as first category up to 2004 and completed a few Premier/ Star Trophy events up north and placed in some classics such as The Tour of Anglesey and The Bowland 3 Day. I won the climbers prize in the Ras da Mona 3 day in Wales.
1998-9 Hillingdon Winter Series 2nd overall including two second places to Pro Roger Hammond after race long breaks.
Manx International Masters 2000 & 2001 3rd, 2002 4th.
European UCI Masters Championship Isle of Man 2003 3rd.
Memorable cycling moments include, riding the Tour of Colombia along side greats such as Martin Ramirez and Pablo Wiches.
Riding for Jeff Wright as part of a put together GB team in the Tour of Majorca in which he won Overall, Points and Mountains prizes. I remember he punctured on a mountain stage and we all paced him back on, he won the stage and we all came in 15 minutes down!
Staring in a Lynx Ad with 3 club mates filmed at Manchester Velodrome in 1999, I even so it on Colombian TV.
